ArchivesDallam County a Second Amendment Safe HavenBy Nixie Sanderson Dallam County is now a Second Amendment Safe Haven County following a resolution passed by the commissioners in their meeting Monday morning. “In theory, it’s really just symbolic to show our support for the second amendment,” county judge Wes Ritchey said. The resolution is similar to those passed by other counties across the state and nation. Ritchey said these resolutions have largely been in response to firearms laws recently passed in Virginia. This resolution states the commissioners will support the sheriff in his decisions to not enforce any restrictions on firearms that are deemed unconstitutional.
