ArchivesWellington State Bank Applies To Acquire First NationalBy NIXIE SANDERSON Wellington State Bank has announced it has filed an application with the Banking Commissioner of Texas for a merger with First National Bank in Dalhart. The banks issued a joint announcement Monday, which stated, "Wellington State Bank is excited about announcing that it has entered into an agreement to acquire First National Bank in Dalhart located at 302 Denrock Avenue. The acquisition was approved by the Board of Directors of both banks and is pending regulatory approval, with an expected closing date in late October 2016.” According to the information in the public notices regarding the application, First National Bank in Dalhart will continue as branch office of Wellington State Bank. Wellington State Bank has also announced they will apply to the Federal Reserve Board for permission to move forward with the merger and to acquire direct control of the Dalhart bank.
