ArchivesOfficer Injured In Dallas Shooting Has Dalhart Ties
By IVY HOLLINGSWORTH The shooting in Dallas last Thursday night, July 7 that claimed the lives of five Dallas Police Officers and wounded 11 others hits close to home for many, but especially for Carrol Ailshie, mother of one of the officers wounded. Officer Elmar Cannon, 44, son of Ailshie, was one of the 11 officers wounded in the ambush. Cannon is married with two children, ages 17 and 21. He was released from the hospital Saturday, July 9 and is expected to recover. Cannon joined the department in July 2009.
