Ripps Ready To Lead Texan
The Dalhart Texan welcomed a new editor last week with the arrival of Cerise Merritt Ripps. Ripps is a native of Knippa, TX and a graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio, TX. She has written for the Brownfield News and the Uvalde Leader- News, as well as for the Bandera Bulletin. She relocated to Dalhart from Bandera last week with her husband, Walter “Tooter” Ripps, and 18-year-old son, Andrew Price. “We’ve fallen in love with Dalhart,” Ripps said. “Everyone has been so welcoming.” She added that the team at the Texan is looking forward to working together to make the newspaper community-friendly and the best source of local news possible.
