2026 marks 125 years of Dalhart ISD being in existence, so the theme for Dalhart High’s homecoming is “One Pack-One Legacy-125 Years.” The high school student council has made that theme prominent in plans for homecoming this year.
A special shirt was made by Makayla Abla that includes “125 Years” and the theme under a wolf logo. Panhandle Tarps has also been offering, through the high school, different Dalhart Wolves flags, and at special request added one with an older logo.
The decorations at the high school that were put up by the cheerleaders also included a set of gold balloons with the numbers “125,” and when the SUB DEBS chalked car windows on Sunday, September 20, they used “One Pack” on nearly every vehicle.
The student council has also been asking members of the Dalhart ISD staff who graduated from Dalhart to fill out a form so that they could make social media posts about some Dalhart High alumni who now work for the district. They have also been seeking information about past kings and queens.
The homecoming parade and pep rally were scheduled for Wednesday, September 23, with the parade starting at 7 p.m. and the pep rally following. Due to the forecast of possible rain, the decision was made to move the pep rally into the gym. Depending on the weather, a homecoming bonfire was scheduled for after the pep rally.
The homecoming court was selected a couple of weeks ago, and the coronation ceremony will begin at approximately 6:30 p.m. Photos of the court are included in this edition of the Dalhart Texan.
A senior football player and senior girl are selected by each grade level to represent that class. Kaleb Speer and Roxy Alvidrez were elected to represent the freshman class, Bay Wing and Kambry Kitchens were elected to represent the sophomore class, Luis Deleon and Addysin Carnesecca were elected to represent the junior class, and Ulysses Davila and Joie Read were elected to represent the senior class.
Students were scheduled to vote this week on which boy and girl would be homecoming king and queen.
Homecoming will end with the football game itself, which will be against longtime rival Borger. The game will start at 7 p.m.
