Dalhart’s Sandy Stenson honored by United Supermarkets

Sandy Stenson, who has been with the United Supermarket in Dalhart for nearly 10 years, was recently honored by United Supermarkets and its parent company, Albertson’s, for her contributions to the company and her fellow employees and commitment to excel- lence.

Throughout her ca- reer, Stenson has con- sistently demonstrat- ed an extraordinary work ethic, initiative, and dedication to serving others. While her official role is that of a checker, her con- tributions extend far beyond the front end. She plays a key role in maintaining our floral department, where her attention to detail and care for the prod- uct have helped drive the department’s success. She is also known for stepping in wherever help is needed, whether that means assisting cus- tomers, supporting fellow team members, conditioning shelves, or helping with back stock—often without being asked.

The award aligns with the spirit of the company’s prestigious Spirit of Excellence recognition program, which honors associ- ates who exemplify the company’s Pur- pose and Values. The award celebrates individuals who go above and beyond their regular roles and responsibilities to create exceptional experiences for cus- tomers, communi- ties, and fellow team members. Sandy is a true example of those qualities.

In addition to being selected to receive the Positive Impact Award, Stenson was first nominated for the Albertsons Com- panies National Spirit of Excellence Award. Being nominated for this prestigious national recognition within the company is a significant accom- plishment and re- flects the tremendous impact she has had throughout her career with United Super- markets. While she was ultimately not chosen as the national recipient, being con- sidered among associ- ates from across the company is an honor in itself.

Her fellow employ- ees were proud to present Sandy with the Positive Impact Award on August 4 in recognition of her outstanding con- tributions to their store and the Dalhart community. As noted previously, Stenson’s commitment extends far beyond her role as a checker. As men- tioned, she plays an important role in the floral department, supports multiple areas throughout the store whenever needed, and serves as an example of service, perseverance, and teamwork for those around her.

In addition to her professional accom- plishments, Sandy’s resilience and com- passion have inspired those around her. Despite experiencing significant personal challenges, including serving as a care- giver to both her late husband and her elderly mother, she has remained one of the most dependable, trusted, and positive members of our team. Her willingness to serve others and her unwavering commit- ment to our guests and coworkers make her highly deserving of this recognition.
