Dalhart finishes summer school for 2026
Dalhart ISD had students participating in different summer school programs at the elementary and the high school from June 1-June 25. Those programs have now concluded, and students and teachers who participated will have a little over a month off before school starts again in August. Dalhart students who participated in the programs A Bright Beginnings (ABB) & Project SMART concluded their summer instruction. Educators for A Bright Beginnings promoted the love of reading, fostered oral language skills and developed writing skills for children who are threefour years old. Project SMART teachers focused on math and literacy for students in kindergarten through eighth grade.
Every summer the school district celebrates these younger children’s dedication and willingness to spend a few weeks reinforcing their math and literacy skills. CANY This year students had a chance to receive an electric scooter through a raffle based on attendance. These incentive rewards were only possible with the support and generosity of our local sponsors Mixer Center, MAS Trailers, and Lathem Farms. The staff, students, and families expressed appreciation to those sponsors for contributing to a successful summer enrichment program.
At Dalhart High, some students spent time from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. trying to recover credits through Edgenuity. There was also one week of prep time for the STAAR EOC test that some students took part in, and then students had to retake the STAAR EOC tests the following week.
