2026 Little Mr. and Miss XIT named at pageant

The XIT Rodeo & Reunion Association hosted its annual Little Mr. and Miss XIT pageant at the LThe XIT Rodeo & Reunion Association hosted its annual Little Mr. and Miss XIT pageant at the La Rita Theatre on Saturday April 11. Coyle Dunavan was named Litte Mr. XIT and Harper Stegall was named Little Miss XIT at the pageant, and Coburn Barrows and Claira Harris were named runners-up.
There were about 10 different contestants in the pageant, although some suffered from some stage fright. Tammy Schniederjan was the host, and Jordan Smallwood, Sophia Latini and Janet Hartrim were the judges. Schniederjan interviewed each contestant and gave them a chance to demonstrate some kind of talent, from singing to hula hooping to roping to riding prop bucking horses or stick horses. Dunavan talked about roping goats, and even gave a demonstration of roping on a prop. Harper Stegall demonstrated riding a stick horse around poles. Barrow, the runnerup for Little Mr. XIT, demonstrated riding a bucking horse, even bursting out of a chute, and Harris sang.
Dunavan and Harris received leather sashes and buckles to go along with their new titles. All of the contestants received good bags that were provided by Alfonso Venegas and the Dallam-Hartley Counties Hospital District. Dunavan and Harris will take over for Alonzo Deleon and Brinlee Gutierrez, the 2025 Little Mr. and Miss XIT.a Rita Theatre on Saturday April 11.
