$1.2 billion in monthly sales tax revenue distributed to local governments

City of Dalhart receives over $250,000

(AUSTIN) — Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced on January 7 that he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.2 billion in local sales tax allocations for January, 4.9 percent more than in January 2025. 

These allocations are based on sales made in November by businesses that report tax monthly.

The City of Dalhart will receive $255,408.31. This is a 4.47% increase over the amount received last year for the same time period, which was $244,470.28. This is also the total for the year since a new year just began. 

The City of Texline will receive $6,587.76, which is an increase of 7.09% over the amount received last year for the same time period. 

The City of Channing will receive $1,005.19 according to the reports, which is an increase of 38.39% over the amount received last year for the same time period, which was $726.33.
