Archives$1.1 billion distributed in sales tax revenue$1.1 billion distributed in sales tax revenueCity of Dalhart receives over $260,000 (AUSTIN) — Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock announced today he will send cities, counties, transit systems and special purpose districts $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for October, 3.9 percent more than in October 2024. These allocations are based on sales made in August by businesses that report tax monthly. The City of Dalhart will receive $264,121.91. This is an 11.81% decrease over the amount received last year for the same time period, which was $299,516.37. The total for the year is $2,794,315.24, which is a decrease of 2.59% from the previous year. The City of Texline will receive $6,540.99, which is an increase of 9.59% over the amount received last year for the same time period. Texline’s total for the year is $60,116.71, an increase of 3.35% from the previous year. The City of Channing will receive $4,032.98 according to the reports, which is a huge increase of 514.25% over the amount received last year for the same time period, which was $656.56. Channing’s total for the year is now $26,233.07, an increase of 179.95% from the previous year.
