Jesse Torres takes over as KXIT owner

KXIT Radio announced last week that Jesse Torres, who has been with the station for over 20 years, will be the new owner and CEO of the station. It will be operated under the business name Double J Productions.
Torres sent out the following press release announcing the change. “It is with great excitement and gratitude that I announce that after 22 years with KXIT that on October 1, 2025 I will be the new owner and CEO of KXIT radio in Dalhart. I will be operating under the business name “Double J Productions” and will be moving operations back to the beginning on Highway 385 North, with what has been our original and current tower and transmitter site. Renovations are now under way to update the building and grounds, and I anticipate the move before the new year.
Nothing will change in the way of programming and personnel as we are blessed to have awesome employees and we look forward to serving you and being your local provider for local news, hometown sports, Classic Rock programming and a break from the workday! I take pride in being able to say that on the KXIT airwaves, our listeners and our town are the stars and we will continue to bring you, the listener and advertiser the best workday we can offer keeping in touch with community events and our local celebrities as there are many and we will continue to highlight them and keep Dalhart first.
Special thanks to the ROGCO family and Dyke Rogers for keeping KXIT local in their original purchase and allowing us the freedom to serve the community as we already knew how. Be on the lookout for more new programming that will cater to our youth.
