NewsAtha, Campbell win school board seatsAtha, Campbell win school board seatsJoni Atha and Shelby Campbell were declared winners of the May 5 Dalhart ISD trustee election Monday. The Dalhart Independent School District board met in special session at noon to canvas and certify the results of the election. With only 385 votes cast, Atha received 166 and Campbell came in right behind with 164, leaving third candidate Raina Crabtree with 55. Atha, the incumbent, is a former DISD educator who currently works with her husband in his veterinary practice. Campbell works at Full Circle Jerseys. Also on Monday’s agenda were administering the oath of office to newly elected trustees and electing new officers; those items were tabled until the next meeting. A required change order for the new Intermediate School was approved prior to adjournment.
