Special services scheduled for Easter Sunday
If ever there is a day for worship and reflection, it’s Easter Sunday, and area church leaders invite the community to join them for services tomorrow.
At 7:15 a.m., there will be a Sunrise Service at the XIT Grounds Pavilion, sponsored by First Christian Church. It will be followed by a free breakfast at the Church Fellowship Hall, 502 Denver Avenue, at 8:00 a.m. The Resurrection Celebration will begin at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary, and the theme is “His Love Reigns!” Pastor Mark Scales invites everyone to participate.
The community of Grace United Methodist Church welcomes all to join them at 8:00 a.m. at the Rita Blanca Amphitheatre for worship and breakfast. Casual attire is suggested.
First Baptist Church, 1000 E. 16th Street, will hold its Foundations Service at 9:15 a.m., followed by the Easter Worship Service at 10:45 a.m. “Easter is a great time of year for family, friends, traditions and celebration!” said Pastor Michael Wilcox. “We would love for you to join us this Easter season at First Baptist Dalhart as we celebrate our risen Savior.”
Dalhart’s newest church, Rushing Wind Ministries, will hold their Easter services at 10:30 a.m., immediately followed by a potluck lunch, with a bounce house for the younger attendees. “We’d love to have everyone join us. This is for everyone,” said Pastor Richard Rodriguez. The church is located at 1641 Tennessee Avenue in the Apache Center, in the former Wells Fargo Bank.
Also at 10:30 Sunday is Liberty Baptist Church’s Easter Service at 12020 US Highway 87 South, with everyone invited to attend.
With nearly 40 churches located in Dallam and Hartley counties, it’s sure that many more will be hosting special services tomorrow for Easter Sunday. These are the ones that responded to our request for information. Check with your family church for more details about what its plans are.
