Crusaders compete well at state academic meet

Five students from St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School traveled to San Marcos April 12 to vie in the state-level Private Schools Interscholastic Association academic competition. They qualified through competing at the PSIA district competition in Lubbock on Feb. 22.

Winning big last week was Giana Faria, who was named state champion in 2nd grade Creative Writing. Maricela Garcia took third place in 4th & 5th grade Dictionary Skills.

Jase Pollard placed third in 6th grade Ready Writing. Miles Bezner competed in 2nd grade Number Sense and Zeb VanBeek in 5th grade Mathematics.
