ArchivesHartley County burn ban liftedHartley County burn ban liftedHartley County commissioners lifted the burn ban Monday at their regular meeting, along with approving the purchase of fire extinguishers for all county vehicles and the Justice Center. Three requests, all approved, came from the Sheriff’s Department. It will send a cadet through the police academy, paying his or her salary while in attendance. A $4000 line item for computers will be added to the department budget. The office will be allowed to hire a part-time deputy at a rate to be determined by the sheriff and the treasurer. The court also approved subdivision regulations, as well as a resolution in support of rural ambulance service grants. The Hartley County Commissioners Court meets at the Hartley County Courthouse in Channing, TX at 8:30 a.m. on the second Monday of each month. All meetings are open to the public.
