ArchivesMedical clinics reopen with more efficient systemMedical clinics reopen with more efficient systemAfter a brief closure of one of the facilities, addition of caregivers, and some restructuring, DHCHD announced new plans and procedures last week for High Country Community Rural Health Clinic and Dalhart Family Medical Clinic. With eight primary care providers now available, the clinics will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. These visits are reserved for patients needing to be seen the same day for acute and/ or sick needs. This means that patients can walk into either clinic to be seen or, if they prefer not to wait, they can be scheduled for a same-day appointment. If it is too late in the afternoon, they will be scheduled for the first appointment available the following day. Schedulers will try to schedule patients with their primary care provider; however, if another provider can see the patient sooner, he or she will be scheduled with that provider. “This change helps us care for more patients, reduces wait times, and prevents sick patients from lingering in the waiting room,” said a spokesperson for the Dallam Hartley County Hospital District. “It also strengthens continuity of care, ensuring more personalized, consistent and exceptional care. Your health and comfort are our top priorities!” Current health care providers for DHCHD are Alicia Balderas, PA-C – Primary Care; Dr. Amy Cosgrove - Primary Care and Obstetrics; Tonya Fields, CNM – Primary Care and For the full story SUBSCRIBE to the online edition of The Dalhart Texan, call (806) 244-4511 to setup a subscription to our physical paper or pick a copy up at one of our many convenient news rack locations.
