
Hartley High Homecoming & Senior Night both set for Friday
Hartley High School will hold a double celebration Friday night, Jan. 24, when the basketball teams take on the Adrian Matadors for both their Homecoming and Senior Night.
The homecoming hoopla will actually take place on campus all week, culminated by a Community Pep Rally at the High School Gym at 6:00 p.m. Thursday, followed by the traditional bonfire (weather permitting). The Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned during the Pep Rally from among eight candidates.
Two high school seniors (one male and one female) were selected by each high school grade as its representatives to the Homecoming Court. The freshman class chose Micah Cappo and Jaiden Gentry. Representing the sophomore class will be Matt Smulder and Brook Alver. The junior class selected Jace Buckingham and Ailin Garcia, while the seniors picked Adan Quevedo and Artazell Goytia. These are the candidates for King and Queen.
The Homecoming Court will also include Class Princes and Princesses, who were chosen by their classmates. Prince Noah Cappo and Princess Karen Bautista are representing the freshman class. Sophomore class royalty will be Prince Miguel Soto and Princess Alicia Robles. Prince Ricky Sanchez and Princess Giselle Garcia were selected by the junior class. Senior class royalty are Prince Micah Cappo and Princess Brooke Alver.
The basketball games will begin Friday night at 6:00 p.m. with the girls’ game, followed by the boys’ game at 7:30 p.m. The high school seniors and their parents will be recognized following the boys’ game. Admission is $3 for children under X and $5 for adults.
