NewsWarmth of Grace to hand out coats FridayWarmth of Grace to hand out coats FridayTemperatures are dropping, and it’s nearly time to haul out the heavy winter coats. Tomorrow and Friday, volunteers for Warmth of Grace are going to be hauling many heavy winter coats as they sort, organize and display the donations from the annual coat drive for the upcoming distribution happening Friday. The yearly drive for coats, sweaters, gloves, hats and blankets was moved ahead on the calendar this year so that the winter wear could be handed out earlier in the year; it ended Oct. 22. From 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday, volunteers will be at People’s Church, 1929 Apache Dr. in Dalhart, to assist participants in locating appropriate, well-fitting gear. The winter clothing is all given at no charge, but participants are asked to be present to receive items. This is the 10th year for the Warmth of Grace Coat Drive, organized by Leslie Coffee.
