ArchivesNational Honor Society inducts membersNational Honor Society inducts membersThirty-two members were inducted into the Dalhart High School chapter of the National Honor Society on Sunday, September 29, in a ceremony held on campus. To qualify for the organization, students must display the qualities of the four pillars of NHS: scholarship (have a grade point average of at least 3.5), leadership, service and character. There were 15 returning senior members who were recognized for entering their second year in the honor society, with 17 inducted for the first time. This year’s officers are Emily Gaines, president; Kathleen Vermedahl, vice-president; Karol Garcia, secretary; Olivia Peavey, treasurer; Elli Bezner, senior representative and Victoria Terrazas, junior representative. Throughout the school year, NHS members pass out complimentary football programs at home games. They help the OneHeart program during the holidays with the Christmas tree angels, wherein underprivileged children are sponsored. They also assist with other requests from the community during the year said their sponsor, Jennifer Bowers.
