Tommy Chisum
Tommy Chisum is originally from Aspermont, TX, but moved to Dalhart in 1999 to work for the Texas Dept. of Criminal Justice, where he began his career in 1996.
He has retired from the state but has been working for the City of Dalhart for about a year and a half as a mechanic at the Dalhart Fire Department. He has been a volunteer firefighter since 2004 and is currently Assistant Chief.
His favorite thing about his job is being able to help people, he said. His least favorite thing is that all days don’t have a positive outcome.
Chisum loves to fish and spend time outdoors, especially if it’s with his grandson, Easton.
He enjoys living in Dalhart because in time of need, all the area communities come together to support each other.
