DISD team members see pay increase for 2024-25

Employees of Dalhart ISD will receive a 4% pay increase for the 2024-25 school year, Superintendent Jeff Byrd announced at the school board meeting Friday. The across-the-board raise was made possible through prudent spending and responsible accounting practices over the past years.

The Dalhart Independent School District board also discussed the need for a salary and stipend schedule for the upcoming school year based on the position held, number of sports or additional activities taught and other quantitative considerations. Byrd referred to the current system as “a hodgepodge,” but the issue was tabled it for the time being.

Board members did approve a slight increase in the cost of school meals for 2024-25.

At the Elementary and Intermediate campuses, breakfast will now cost $1.50 and lunch will be $3.25.

At the Junior High and High School, breakfast will be $1.50 with lunch $3.50.

Adults and visitors at all campuses will pay $2.50 for breakfast and $4.50 for lunch.

Free and reduced price meals will still be available for those who qualify.
