Take Me Out To The Ball Game…
The residents and staff at Coon Memorial Nursing Home celebrated Father’s Day a bit early Friday, June 14, with a rowdy game of indoor baseball. With men residents , the Stars, teamed up against female staff members, the Stripes, the game was played using primarily T-ball equipment and designated wheelchair pushers, as opposed to designated pinch runners.
The lively cheering section was outfitted with pompoms and seemed to be having as much fun as some of the players.
The game lasted one full inning before it was called due to time. The final score was Stars – 5, Stripes – 0. As the game ended, one resident was heard to tell another, “This was the best day ever!”
