ArchivesCity Council names interim City ManagerCity Council names interim City ManagerKen Nickels has been named interim City Manager by Dalhart City Council until May 17, unless needed longer. The former interim Dalhart Finance Director also has extensive City Manager experience in other municipalities, said Mayor Justin Moore. He is currently residing in Boerne, TX; the city will provide housing during his interim stay. Nickels contract can be extended if necessary, but the mayor and council members hope to have a permanent City Manager in place before the May 4 council election. Moore said that Nickel is not likely to be a candidate for that position. “I am excited about Ken joining us again to help us through this transition, “Moore said. “Ken brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table that we desperately need during this time. His leadership skills are what we need the most during this transition. He will work diligently with staff and council to keep the city running in a smooth manner.”
