Hot for Help

The Dalhart Volunteer Fire Department (DVFD) is accepting applications for volunteer members. The DVFD currently has seven volunteer openings and potential volunteers must be at least eighteen years old, complete a six month probationary period, and live within six minutes driving distance of the Fire Station at 110 Denrock Ave. All training required is paid for by the agency. The City of Dalhart provides a pension plan, water bill credits, and various insurance policies for all volunteers of the DVFD. Volunteers have access to a wide network of people with knowledge and occupational expertise in different fields and industries. A central belief all volunteers should hold is “Service above Self.”

“The Dalhart Volunteer Fire Department is a family. Our volunteers are driven by an attitude of serviceboth service to the community and service to each other. The City of Dalhart makes that service worth the time due to the benefits provided, but we are looking for volunteers who are selfless individuals ready and willing to be a positive force in their community. If that sounds like you, join us and let’s get to work,” said Chief Mario Garcia, Fire Chief.

The DVFD has started a recruitment push for 2024 that will remain open until seven positions are filled. Applications are available in person at the DVFD Fire Station at 110 Denrock Ave, or you can apply online at: www.dalharttx. gov/236/Fire-Department.
