No Democratic candidates registered in either county. In Dallam County races, incumbent Whitney Hill faces opposition from Jon King for County Attorney. Sheriff Shane Stevenson is opposed by James Webb. Carl McCarty, the incumbent County Commissioner for Precinct 1, is running against Brian Bezner, Clint coulter and Austin Sage. County Tax Assessor- Collector Jami Parr and County Constable Chiz Bell are running unopposed, as is Levi James, the County Commissioner for Precinct 3. In Hartley County, Sheriff Chanze Fowler is running against Eric Byrne. J D Clark, Kent Gordon and Bo McNabb have all tossed their hat in the ring for the race for County Commissioner precinct 1. After 28 years as County Commissioner, incumbent David Vincent is not seeking reelection. County Commissioner for Precinct 3 Chad Hicks is unopposed in his bid for reelection. Erin Lands Achondo is also running without opposition for reelection as District Attorney, 69th Judicial District. In the race for County Judge, Olivia Elliott is seeking to fill the seat currently held by her father, David Elliott, who is retiring. The last day to register to vote in the primary election is Feb. 5. To register, either contact the appropriate County Voter Registrar or go to VoteTexas.gov. Early voting begins Feb. 20 and ends Mar. 1.
