The local United Way organization presented donation checks to seven different local organizations on Tuesday December 27 at the offices of Frontier Fuel. The combined total that was raised and donated this year was $28,000. Dee Brown, Sheila Yee, Chad Miller, Heidi Guffey and Jackie Otts were on hand to present the donations.

CASA received a donation to help with training and travel expenses for volunteers. Good Samaritan received a donation which will help them move to a new location. Meals on Wheels received a donation which will help out with two months’ worth of meals. During 2022, Meals on Wheels delivered 7,400 meals from January to November (final numbers were not available since December isn’t finished yet.)

The Dalhart Pregnancy Resource Center-CareNet plans to use the money they received to bring in educators during the next year to offer parenting classes and financial workshops, along with many other things. The local Girl Scouts work to instill courage, character and confidence by focusing on four pillars: STEM, outdoors, life skills and entrepreneurship.

The Dalhart Senior Center will use its donation to help with a cosmetic remodel, the installation of hightech electronics, and an all new contemporary décor. Strikeout Cancer provides money to local cancer patients and families for travel expenses or any other needs.
