Future veterinarians get first-hand training at Community Connect’s Vet Med camp

A camper at the Frank Phillips College Community Connect “Vet Med” camp gives a rabies vaccination to a dog during the final day of the camp on Thursday morning at the Frank Phillips College Science Lab in Dalhart. About 11 kids learned from professionals at Circle H Headquarters and got hands-on experiences examining animals, suturing, giving vaccinations to animals and learning about ultrasound and X-ray technology. Community Connect camps continue this summer with openings still available for Welding for Teens camp on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week at the Frank Phillips College Welding Shop for ages 13-18; Playdough camp is Friday, June 24 for kids ages 3-5 at Frank Phillips College; Cookie Decorating with Denis Baumert June 29 at the college (very few openings left).
