Texline’s Bezner honored

The name Jody Bezer is synonymous with Texline School. Bezner has served on the Texline ISD School Board since 1986 and was honored for his years of service to the Texline school district during the Texline Class of2022 commencement ceremony last week.

“Jody Bezner has been on our school board 36 years,” said Texline School Superintendent Terrell Jones.

Jones presented Bezner with a Kenneth Wyatt image of a combine on a Panhandle Wheat Field. Bezner is a longtime farmer in the area and the painting is symbolic.

“The reason I picked that out is because Jody is a big farmer and when I would drive out and visit with him about school business, he would oftentimes be on his big machines just really enjoying life,” Jones said. “I always appreciated that about him, he was a hundred percent at whatever he did.”

And that included the Texline school and its students.

“He was sure a hundred percent behind the school,” Jones said. “He did wonderful things for the school for 36 years.”

Bezner will still serve on the Dallam County Appraisal District’s Board of Directors.
