DHCHD Announces New Long Term Care Director

Dalhart, Texas – On Monday, September 27th, Heather Schriber accepted the position of Long-Term Care Director at DHCHD. Heather will be overseeing the day-to-day operations of Coon Memorial Nursing Home and supervising Legacy Assisted Living. She has a passion for the elderly and making their lives the best she can. Coon Memorial Nursing Home is a 54-bed facility and, Legacy Assisted Living is a 26-bed facility. Heather has been the Director of Legacy Assisted Living for the past year and has served as the administrative assistant to the previous Director of Senior Services, Brandi Sanders.

“Heather Schriber has been an absolute asset to our Hospital District. She started as an Activities Aide and quickly rose to the Assisted Living Director position. Now, she will be over the Nursing Home and Assisted Living with the enthusiasm and compassion that is perfect for the residents we all love,” says Kacey Schniederjan, ACEO.

“I’ve grown up in the nursing home setting most of my life. My grandmother was a Licensed Nursing Facility Administrator (LNFA), and I admired her passion and dedication to her residents and staff. I’m ever so grateful to have the opportunity to carry on her legacy. I’m passionate about providing the best care possible to our Long-Term Care residents as well as developing a relationship with their families. They all have become part of my extended family. I will graduate with my Bachelor’s in Healthcare Administration in December then, obtaining my LNFA within the next year. I’m excited about this new adventure and to let God lead the way through this transition,” says Heather Schriber.
