Intermediate school holds year-end ceremony

The Dalhart Intermediate School hosted their end-of-theyear awards ceremony Thursday, March 27th within the school’s auditorium.

The awards were presented to each grade in the following manner: third grade met at 8:15 a.m., fourth grade met at 9:15 a.m., and the fifth grade met at 10:35 a.m. Parents were invited to come to this event to celebrate their child’s achievements and to take pictures with the faculty.

This ceremony had each teacher present the awards to the students that they were responsible for. Awards included “Most Improved” and “Highest Average” in science, math, reading, and social studies. There were also awards given to UIL medalists, the fastest mile, students with good character traits, students with good sportsmanship, and music recorder karate.

The third grade had twelve A/B honor roll students and two A honor roll students. BethAnne Ballew (Math) had Lilly Hughes make the A/B honor roll and Axel Padilla make the A honor roll. Twila Haisten (Reading) had four students make the A/B honor roll: Kimberly Howe, Judson James, Kane Kitchens, and Lane Martin. Theresa Garza (Math & Science, Bi-Lingual Class) had Aubree Garcia and Juan Larraga make the A/B honor roll. Ashley Hass (Reading & Social Studies) had Abel Deleon make the A honor roll. Hass also had Baruch Flores and Uriel Pino make the A/B Honor Roll. Sara Sadler (Math & Science) had student Esther Harms make the A/B honor roll. Finally, Adrien Hunt (Reading & Social Studies) had Kaelyn Speer and Elijah Valdez make the A/B honor roll.

The fourth grade had nineteen A/B honor roll students and one A honor roll student. Lacey Bolton (Math & Science) had students Derek Jordan and Cazelynne Turner make the A/B honor roll. Jill Wood (Reading) had four students make it on the A/B honor roll: Layla Deleon, Krew Hines, Christopher Perez, and Grant Waggoner. Dakota Carranza (Math) had Nayib Altamirano, Saevid Ford, and Maura Tojin make the A/B honor roll. Brittany Thelander (ELAR) had five students make the A/B honor roll: Landrie Frische, Mallory Jobe, Kaylor Ortiz, Piper Pool, and Isabella Perez. Jantje Olson (Science & Writing) had Bentley McKinney make the A honor roll. She also had five students make the A/B honor roll: Naylee Cordova, Emmery Meeks, Lia Palma, Nathan Ramirez, and Valentina Vaughn.

The fifth grade had twenty A/B honor roll students and two A honor roll students. Jamie Halbert (Math) had Maya Hernandez make the A honor roll. She also had four students make the A/B honor roll: Lesly Camacho, David Espinoza, Michelle Flores, and Brittany Velarde. Caitlyn Holmes (ELAR) had Itzel Orozco make the A/B honor roll. Nancy Donges (Science) had Aaron Mendoza make the A/B honor roll. Kristi Thelander (Math) had six students make the A/B honor roll: Baiden Beavers, Dylan Bowers, Carter Ellis, Keera McCaskey, Evany Mendoza, and Alyra Rivera. Christy Turner (ELAR) had Bexy Pino make the A honor roll. Dona Smith (Science) had eight students make the A/B honor roll: Gizel Baron, Vianney Dominguez, Forrest Hurd, Chelsey Padilla, Jaedynce Peoples, Alex Sacdin, Fernanda Terrazas, and Jessica Ximun.

This concluded the awards ceremony at the Dalhart Intermediate schools. There was a fifth grade BBQ in which parents and students were invited to attend. This was to help celebrate these students moving up to the Jr. High next year.
