Earth Day ceremony honors teachers

Trees were planted in memory of four Dalhart High School teachers who have passed away. The trees were planted in a ceremony held at the school on Thursday, which was also Earth Day.

"Today, we will benefit our future generations by honoring those gone before them. Mrs. Barrow, Mrs. Holden, Mr. Swaim, and Mr. Truitt used their short time on earth and at Dalhart High School to leave a lasting impression on our lives and education. What a fitting tribute to plant these trees in remembrance of them, the symbols of longevity to honor lives much too brief,” student Ani Lees said in the opening of the ceremony.
