ArchivesTornado warning issued near HartleyBy Nixie Sanderson The first tornado warning of the season in the bi-county area was issued Saturday afternoon after a string of severe thunderstorms swept across the panhandle. The tornado warning was issued for Hartley County by the National Weather Service in Amarillo at 2:42 p.m. Saturday as the storm was approximately four miles southwest of Hartley. According to the National Weather Service in Amarillo, a funnel cloud was confirmed at the time the tornado warning was issued. However, there have been no official reports of a tornado touching down in Hartley County.
