City Council Approves COPsync Proposal

The Dalhart City Council met Tuesday night, March 22.

Shane Rapp, founder of COPsync, made a presentation to the council.

The council was presented information regarding an upgrade to be done in March 2017 and no later than June 2017. The city has one year left on the current COPsync plan. This will upgrade the city for six years.

Rapp went over the upgrade in detail. COPsync is one centralized law enforcement network where all officers in every jurisdiction are connected in real-time on an information sharing data network.

COPsync started in Texas with one small sheriff’s office. Today, more than 490 Texas law enforcement agencies are sharing informationin real-time on the COPsync network.
