Hartley County Commissioners met Tuesday morning for a special meeting. The commissioners decided to extend the burn ban in the county for 60 days.

A burn ban was put in place last week as critical fire weather, with windy, dry conditions, plagued the panhandle region. That burn ban lasted only one week, giving the commissioners time to meet and consider an extension.

The Dallam County Commissioners voted to extend their burn ban Monday until March 14. With the addition of Hartley County’s extension, both counties continue to remain in a burn ban.
