Dallam County commissioners extend burn ban

The Dallam County Commissioners met in a special meeting Monday morning to consider a burn ban. A burn ban is currently in place for both Dallam and Hartley Counties, taking effect Wednesday of last week. The commissioners voted to extend the ban until March 14, which is also the irregular meeting date. Judge Wes Ritchey they would discuss this again at that meeting.

The ban includes outside burning of any kind. Barbecuing in a contained barbeque is allowed, said Fire Chief Curtis Brown.
