Come help us celebrate the birth of baby boy Shawn Sunday, August 8, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. come and go at the Lincoln Street Baptist Church, 1019 Lincoln Street in Dalhart. The regular meeting of the Hartley County Commissioners Court will be on August 9, 2010 at 8:30 a.m. in the Hartley County Courthouse in Channing. They will review and discuss the following agenda: current bills and financial reports, approve minutes of previous meeting, consider the reappointment of Janis Robinson to the MHMR Board of Trustees, audience with Sylvia Renick, consider purchasing road equipment, consider joining buy board, consider bi-county bills, budget workshop, reports and request from personnel, open forum. |

The XIT A&M Club welcomes all former, current and future students, their families and friends of Texas A&M University to join us for an ice cream social. Wednesday, August 11 at 7:00 p.m. at the Seventh Street Park in Dalhart. Please bring a freezer of favorite ice cream, cake or pie and a lawn chair. The 2010 XIT Friends of the NRA Banquet is scheduled for Friday, August 13 at the Rita Blanca Coliseum. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Support the NRA Foundation and the future of shooting sports! Enjoy dinner and silent and live auctions. Highlights include a special ladies’ table, Deck of Cards raffle, Pick of the Litter, Bucket raffle and Cap raffle. There’s something for every shooting sport enthusiast. Monies raised from the event support numerous activities ranging from 4-H Shooting Sports to Law Enforcement needs. Please come out Friday, August 13 and enjoy a meal from the concession stand while you watch the 2010 Alumni Football game at Dalhart’s Memorial Stadium at 7:30 p.m. All proceeds from the concession stand will be supporting Justin and Kristan Gomez Gibson on a year long mission trip through 11 countries, called “The World Race.” Join them and help feed the world with the bread of life. Dalhart Animal Hospital and Channing 4-H will be having a Rabies Clinic on Saturday, August 14 at the Hartley County Courthouse in Channing, Texas from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., and then in Dalhart at Dalhart Animal Hospital, 1701 US 87 South (one block south of La Espanola) from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. They will be vaccinating dogs and cats for rabies and also offering Distemper/Parvo combination vaccinations. Also available will be deworming and flea and tick dip. All services will be at reduced rates. We have confirmed cases of rabies in Dallam and Hartley counties. This is not only an animal health issue, it is a p ... Rushing Wind Emmaus community will meet Saturday, August 14, at 6:00 p.m. at the Waka Christian Center. Families and friends are welcome to attend. There will be a potluck meal, sponsors training, and a praise and worship service. A nursery will be provided. St. Anthony’s Faith & Works Group will be distributing free school supplies for grades K- 5th to those in need this Saturday, August 14, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the former “Attitudes” store, 218 Denrock. Distribution will take place on a first come/first serve basis. We will also be having a Summer Garden Giveaway with garden goodies in conjunction with the School Supplies giveaway. |
