The Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Dalhart cordially invite you to celebrate Independence Day with us. The Annual July 4th Community Fireworks display is scheduled for Sunday, July 4, at the Rita Blanca Lake after dark. Personal fireworks AE NOT ALLOWED within the city limits of Dalhart or at the Rita Blanca Lake area. Dalhart Police Officers will be on patrol throughout the park to ensure a safe and fun event for the entire community. Those caught littering or lighting fireworks will be fined. Students in grades 3 to 12 are invited to register for the Community Connect 2010 Drama Camp, Monday July 5 through July 9, culminating in a Friday evening performance of “Once Upon a Dream…” a modern Cinderella Story. The day camp will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and directed by Kathryn Bassett and Lacey Murga, assisted by Kaci Frates. Online registration is open at www.dalhartcommunityeducation.org or in person at 701 E. 10th Street. Any kids interested in trying out for the 2010/11 Dalhart Jump & Jam Team will need to attend the Jump & Jam Camp. The Dalhart Jump & Jam jump rope team will be having a Jump Rope Camp July 5 through July 8 at the Dalhart Intermediate School Lego Gym. Second and third graders will attend from 8:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Fourth and fifth graders will attend from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 noon each day. The kids will learn the 16 basic single rope skills, partner skills, long rope and other cool jump rope tricks/skills. Texas Department of State Health Services to hold an Immunization Clinic. The Immunization Clinic is set for Thursday, July 8 at the Department of State Health Services at 407 1/2 Denver in Dalhart. The times will be from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. All clinic times are subject to change or cancellation due to weather conditions or scheduling conflicts. |

Community Connect Drama Camp Students will perform the Musical “Once Upon A Dream” by Dave and Jean Perry, Friday, July 9 at 7:00 pm in the Dalhart High School Auditorium. The free performance is open to the public. Students, grades three through five have been working on the musical during this week’s Drama Camp directed by Kathryn Bassett, Lacey Murga and assisted by Kaci Frates. Come enjoy the Cinderella Story and support local talent. |

Dalhart’s farmer’s market is set to open on Saturday, July 10 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. outside of Dalhart Processing located at 2012 E. 13th Street. Look for the signs at M&S Body Shop at the corner of Highway 87 S. and 13th Street. The Saturday market will remain open through Labor Day weekend and promises to provide area residents with items grown or made in Dallam and Hartley counties.
