| 14:00 - 15:30 Cooking demo and food safety program Category : General “In the Kitchen with Extension” is the new cooking demonstration series offered this year by the Potter County office of Texas AgriLife Extension Service. The June 23 seminar titled “Fresh is Best!” will showcase tips and recipes for fresh produce found in the grocery stores and local farmers markets. The program will be from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the AgriLife Extension Service office, 3301 E. 10th on the Tri-State Fairgrounds, Amarillo. A summertime gathering is underway for college-aged men and women, but everyone is welcome. Come each Thursday beginning June 24 through July 29 for fellowship and food. Dinner is provided during this opportunity to get to know other young adults. “Meet others, get wiser.” Every Thursday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at No. 7 Canyon View Drive in Dalhart. An old fashion cowboy camp meeting that began in 1978 called Mesa Redondo Cowboy Meeting has a rebirth at Ute Lake State Park entrance, June 24-26. Since the location has changed so has the name to Ute Lake Camp Meeting. There will be a cost for parking and camping at the lake at the normal state park rates. There will be coffee at the Snack Shack at 6:00 a.m. with Bible studies and preaching during the day ending with a camp fire gathering at sundown. The Dallam/Hartley Relay for Life invites everyone to join in the fun of raising funds for cancer research. The more lives saved from cancer, the more birthdays to celebrate each year. Come out on June 25 at 7:00 p.m. to the Memorial Stadium and help celebrate the lives that have been saved and the battles won against cancer, a terrible disease. Help remember those who lost their battles against cancer. The event will be fun for all ages, so put on a party hat and bring the entire family for a night filled with fun and remembrance.
