The Small Works Invitational will be on Sunday, February 7, 2010 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Art Center is located at 1810 South Dumas Avenue in Dumas. The Las Viajeras Study Club will meet Monday, February 8th at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Lynne Hill. Judi Trayler will serve as co-hostess. Robin Scott will present a program entitled “Do I Need a Lawyer?” Club officers will also be elected. The Dalhart Independent School Board will meet on Monday, February 8 at 6:00 p.m. at the Dalhart ISD, Administration Building, 701 East 10th. Business to be conducted will be: Call to Order, Prayer, and Personnel: Conduct Superintendents Evaluation, Consider Extension of Superintendents Contract, Conduct goal setting meeting, Adjournment. If during the course of the meeting, any item on the agenda should be held in executive or closed session, the Board will convene in such executive or closed session in accordance with the Open Meetings Act, Texas Government Code Chapter 551. The Petal Pushers Garden Club meeting has been canceled for Friday, February 5th. They will meet February 12th at 9:30 a.m. at the home of Margaret Colquitt. Mildred Metcalf will be co-hostess. Coon Memorial Hospital will again be offering Childbirth Classes beginning February 2. There will be a Teenage Childbirth Class( for ages up to 19) offered from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2nd, Thursday, Feb,11th , Thursday, Feb. 18th and Tuesday, Feb 23. We will also be offering an Adult Childbirth Class (for ages 18 & up) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the same days. The first classes on Tuesday, February 2 will concentrate on Pregnancy & Pre labor issues; on Thursday, February 11, Labor & Delivery; on Thursday Feb 18, Postpartum and the final classes on Tuesday, February 23, Newborn Care.
