Sherrill (Barrow) Herndon will be honored with a Bridal Shower. Entertaining hours will be Sunday, September 27 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Central United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall. Hostesses are: Beth Moore, Lynn Gilbert, Jerry Sue Smith, Betty Wharton, Yolanda Smallwood, Lisa Hanbury, Carol Reynolds, Margaret Enns and Kelli Reed. First Presbyterian Church of Dalhart announces the installation of the new Pastor, Dave Smallegan, on Sunday, September 27 at 4:00 pm. The church would like to invite the community to join them for the installation. The Smallegans moved to Dalhart in the summer and are getting acquainted in the community. There will be refreshments following the service. The church is located at 1409 Scott Ave. |

Katy Visco is scheduled to arrive in Dalhart on September 28th and will stay in the area until early morning on October 1st. Katy is running from Boston, MA to San Diego, CA, and if she makes the trip, she will become the first woman to run solo from coast to coast. The Dallam – Hartley Counties Healthcare Systems presents Lighting the Way to Good Health, a health fair for Dalhart and the surrounding area. It will be held Friday, October 2 from 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Coon Memorial Hospital, 1411 Denver. The fair will feature local healthcare services and resources along with community organizations. There will be free lab tests, giveaways and much more. It will be free to the public. We also have a special area for kids in the Hospital Cafeteria. Hartley Christian Fellowship is hosting a women’s retreat entitled, “A More Excellent Way” on Saturday, October 3rd from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the church.
