The 73rd Annual XIT Rodeo & Reunion commemorative bolo ties are now available for sale at the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce, 102 E. 7th Street. Reserved seating football tickets will go on sale to current ticket holders starting Monday, August 3rd, through Friday August 14th. Tickets are available at the Dalhart ISD Central Administration Office, located at the Allyn Finch Building at 701 E. 10th Street. The hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets not picked up and paid for will go on sale to the public starting Monday, August 17th. The XIT Rodeo and Reunion will be having several amateur events this year including the barrel racing for those 16 years old and older. The wild cow milking for those 18 years old and older and a new event this year is ranch bronc riding for those 18 years old and older. The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) will partner with Adobe Walls Nutrition and Friona State Bank to offer cattle producers a free seminar on cow-calf nutrition in Vega. The 32nd Annual Joe Nisbett XIT 5K & Fun Run 2009, coordinated by the Dalhart Senior Center is just around the corner. Come by and pick up a form, if you don’t already have your registration form and would like to participate in either or both races. The races will be as follows: Saturday, August 8, 7:00 a.m. - one mile fun run, 7:30 a.m. - 5K run. There is a cost to participate in both races. Late registration will result in a higher cost.
