The 73rd Annual XIT Rodeo & Reunion commemorative bolo ties are now available for sale at the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce, 102 E. 7th Street. Reserved seating football tickets will go on sale to current ticket holders starting Monday, August 3rd, through Friday August 14th. Tickets are available at the Dalhart ISD Central Administration Office, located at the Allyn Finch Building at 701 E. 10th Street. The hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Thursday and Friday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Tickets not picked up and paid for will go on sale to the public starting Monday, August 17th. It is XIT time again! The deadline for the 73rd XIT parade is Monday, July 27th at 5:00 p.m. Entry forms can be picked up at the Chamber. Cash prizes given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. The Board of Directors would like to extend a special invitation to you to take part in the Saturday morning street parade. The parade starts at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8th. The theme for this year’s Parade is “Wild Rides & Big Dreams.” The XIT Rangers will have their monthly pot luck supper on Monday evening July 27th at 7:00 p.m. at the Rangers Club House. The 73rd Annual XIT Rodeo & Reunion commemorative bolo ties are now available for sale at the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce, 102 E. 7th Street. Dalhart Senior Center will be holding a Coffee reception in Honor of the Dalhart Senior Center Volunteers and Retiring volunteers (Orville Finch & Ann Reynolds Retiring). Everyone is invited to attend this special coffee reception in honor of our retiring volunteers and honor of our remaining volunteers! The Reception will be on Wednesday, July 29th at 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Dalhart Senior Center Gathering Room. The Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association (TSCRA) will partner with Adobe Walls Nutrition and Friona State Bank to offer cattle producers a free seminar on cow-calf nutrition in Vega. The seminar will take place in the Community Room of the Vega Banking Center on August 6 at 6:00 p.m. “Nutrition is one of the most important aspects of any cow-calf operation,” TSCRA President Dave Scott said. “For this reason, TSCRA is teaming up with Adobe Walls Nutrition and the Friona State Bank to give cattle producers an opportunity to learn about new techniques and products that will keep their cattle healthy. Agenda will include election of 2009-2011 PLA Officers, nomination of Achievement Banquet award recipients and Bi-County Stock Show representatives, and form committees for Achievement Banquet and Sunday Dinner. The 73rd Annual XIT Rodeo & Reunion commemorative bolo ties are now available for sale at the Dalhart Area Chamber of Commerce, 102 E. 7th Street. “Say Cheese for Fun and Fitness” is the theme for the 2009 Dallam 4-H Rally Day. The event will be held Monday, August 10 and Tuesday, August 11 at Camp Billy Joe in Oklahoma. Rally Day marks the beginning of the new 4-H year. All current 4-H members and students age 8 attending 3rd grade through age 13 and interested in joining 4-H are invited. Activities will include games, crafts, and workshops led by Dallam County 4-H Council officers and Dallam teen leaders. Registration forms are available at the Extension office at 401 Denrock and are due by Friday, July 31st. A 3 on 3 Basketball Tournament will take place on August 1st, for ages 15 and up. July 31st is registration at the ROC from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (must register on or before July 31st).
