St. Anthony’s is offering two adult formation classes this summer: The Great Adventure is a Bible learning system that makes the complex simple by teaching the story of the Bible. Every day, more and more people are encountering God’s Word through the methods taught in this study. This study gives a solid foundation for a lifetime of Bible reading. Over this 8 week study, each class will have a half hour DVD seminar followed by group discussion. Included in this study are useful maps and charts and brief assignments for home study. The Recreation Outreach Center of First Baptist Church will be hosting a 3-on-3 Basketball Camp/Tournament for all incoming 4th through 6th grade boys and girls. The camp will held on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. for three weeks beginning June 23 and going through July 9. A family cookout and 3-on-3 tournament will take place on the last day, July 9, starting at 3:30 p.m. Campers will receive a water bottle and camp T-shirt, as well as valuable basketball instruction and life fundamentals from a Biblical aspect. Megan Thompson, FCS Agent and Rebekah Cathey, 4-H Agent of Texas AgriLife Extension Service, Dallam & Hartley Counties, will be offering a Safe Sitter Training workshop on Thursday, June 25th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. that is geared towards interested young adults who are interested in babysitting for a summer job. It is open to girls and boys ages 11 through 15. There is a small fee for enrolling in the class, but scholarships are available upon request. We are having our annual Relay for Life event on June 26. We are interested in anyone who is a Survivor or anyone wanting to be on a team. Our event last year was such a success, we hope this year will be a bigger success than last year. We also had a Survivor Dinner last year and it turned out to be a great success, we will be having another dinner again this year.
