Central United Methodist Church will have two worship services Starting Sunday, June 7th, Central United Methodist Church will have two worship services. The first service will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 9:30 a.m., which will be followed by Sunday school at 9:45 a.m. The second service will begin at its usual time of 10:50 a.m. The two services will be basically the same and will run through out the summer. The purpose of the camp is to instill qualities such as character, class, and effort to develop a winners mentality and create future champions in basketball and life by maximizing each individuals full God given potential. The camp will focus on and teach fundamental details of the game such as shooting, passing and ball handling. Campers will need to be registered ASAP to insure a T-shirt but are welcome to register the morning of the 8th. Piano Camp, June 8-12, for children ages four to 11, could be the perfect way to introduce your child to music as well as determine if the piano is the right instrument for him or her. The five day camp, instructed by Candance Batteiger, will meet daily for two hours of musical fun. Children 4 to 7 will meet from 9 to 11 am; students 8 to11 will meet from 12:30 to 2:30 pm. The couple, working from Nashville, TN, performs over 200 concerts annually. Bedrock gospel shines in each song as the couple share their rich musical heritage and share their unshakable faith. A Bridal Shower for Amanda Gallegos, bride – elect of Jose Gonzalez is set for Saturday, June 13th from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the 1st Christian Church Fellowship Hall. Hostesses are, Belinda Gallegos, Casmen Gardner, Lindi Banda, Eva Gonzalez, Toni Hopson, Tania Rivas, Camilla Green, Shirley Lewis, Stella Walker, Susan Walker, Tonya Koelzer and Shelby Coleman. Becky Ruppanner and Bethany Thomas of Dalhart will be featured in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. The production is the culmination of a week of rehearsals at Broadway Academy of Performing, a musical theatre camp for kids ages 12 – 18. The cast is comprised of campers from Oklahoma, Texas, Kansas, New Mexico and Colorado. Joseph will be presented in the Showcase Auditorium at Seward County Community College in Liberal, KS at 2:00 p.m. on June 13th.
