The La Rita Performing Arts Theatre will be holding auditions for this summer’s melodrama musical at the La Rita Theatre on Monday night, June 1 from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There are parts for 30 singers as well as speaking parts for 6 women and girls and also for 6 men and boys. There are non-acting positions open for costumes, makeup, set construction and helping backstage. Come join the fun June 1, help with the summer play at La Rita. Fathers Reading Every Day (FRED) is set to kick-off June 3rd at Dalhart Elementary School at 6:00 p.m. meal will be provided. Make a difference read to your kids! FRED is a 4 week program for Dads. It is a good way to become involved in your childrens education. It is also a great opportunity to meet other dads. It is something you can do at home and it is free. The Petal Pusher’s Garden Club will meet at 9:30 a.m., Friday, June 5th at the 7th Street Memorial Park. This is a work day and a monthly meeting. Edna Stout will be hostess. |

Dalhart Dairy Festival 2009 will be on Saturday, June 6th at Veterans Memorial Park from 11:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m. Schedule of events are as follows: 11:00 a.m. till 12:00 Non-profit Team Cheese Carving Competition, 11:30 a.m. Milk Chugging Competition, 12:30 p.m. Milking Competition, 1:30 p.m. Milk Chugging Competition. Sponsored by Hilmar Cheese, North Texas Dairy Women’s Association, Circle H Headquarters LLC, Southwest Dairy Farmers, Deer Creek Feeding LLC and Dairy Max. Jackpot Team Goat Roping is open to all ages and will take place on June 6th at XIT Rangers Arena 1 ½ miles West of HWY. 87 & FM 281 Intersection on FM 281 Dalhart. There is a fee for each team and 1/3 back to Jackpot, it pays 1st and 2nd places. Books open at 4:00 p.m. and Roping starts at 5:00 p.m. There will be a Hamburger feed and there will be a charge, bring your lawn chairs and join the fun hosted by the XIT Rangers. |
