    Dalhart Intermediate School will host a Scholastic Book Fair on February 1-5 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Book Fair will be held in room 105. The proceeds from this Book Fair will be used to improve the collection of the school library.

    On Tuesday, February 2, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., a Family Night event will be held. Refreshments will be served. A gift certificate will be awarded to one DIS student in each grade attending the Family Night.

    Coon Memorial Hospital will again be offering Childbirth Classes beginning February 2. There will be a Teenage Childbirth Class( for ages up to 19) offered from 4:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 2nd, Thursday, Feb,11th , Thursday, Feb. 18th and Tuesday, Feb 23. We will also be offering an Adult Childbirth Class (for ages 18 & up) from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on the same days.     ESL, English as a Second Language, for beginners and intermediate students will begin February 2 it was announced by Sylvia Renick, Community Connect coordinator. Beginning classes, led by Carolina Galdean, will meet Tuesday and Thursday mornings while intermediate classes, taught by Ilene Walton, will meet same days in the evening.     Texline will have a community blood drive on Tuesday, February 2 from 3:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. at the Texline Center, 100 S. 3rd.

    All blood types are currently needed. The need is real. There is no substitute for blood. It can only come from volunteer blood donors. Please support the patients of the High Plains Region. Give the gift of life.

    The Dallam Soil & Water Conservation District will hold their Local Work Group Meeting on February 2, at 3:00 p.m. at 622 W. 7th St., Dalhart. Information will be provided about the past years conservation programs and efforts will be made to identify resource concerns for the current year. All area producers are invited to attend.
