Saturday, February 20th will be a great day to eat out.  The Boy Scouts are having their annual Hamburger and Bratwurst Dinner fundraiser beginning at 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Rita Blanca Coliseum.

What a terrific excuse to close the kitchen and get away from the house for an hour or two.  Young members of the Boy Scouts will be on hand to serve and assist patrons who enjoy a hamburger or bratwurst with all of the trimmings.

Famous scouts over the years have included Hank Aaron, Bruce Jenner, Nolan Ryan, Neil Armstrong, John Glenn,  George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, Dwight D. Eisenhower, Gerald Ford, John F. Kennedy, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Theodore Roosevelt, Henry Fonda, Harrison Ford, Bill Gates, Rich Little, David Bowie,  Governor Rick Perry,  Steven Spielberg, George Straight, Jimmy Stewart and Joe Theisman.  The group demonstrates that a scout may grow up and become whatever their heart desires.

Tickets are available from any Boy Scout.  Don’t miss out on the fun and delicious food, as well as an opportunity to help support the Boy Scouts in the Dalhart area.  The Boy Scouts have been around for nearly 100 years.  They pride themselves on building the future leaders of America, “By combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun,” according to the organization’s web site.  Many youth in the Dallam and Hartley Counties area are involved in both Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts.  Fundraising activities provides the youngsters with an opportunity to interact with their community, learn about teamwork and learn business skills.

Tickets are also available at the door.
