     Title: Lady Wolves rope Rangerettes

    The Lady Wolves came to play Tuesday night. The young squad is starting to mature, as they played one of their best games of the season against the Perryton girls.  The Lady Wolves used great pressure defense and outstanding play under the basket by Jeanna Sybesmas and Abbie Steele, to secure a 61-39 victory over Perryton.  The win moves Dalhart to 2-3 in district with an overall record of 11-9.  Dalhart was also very strong on the boards outrebounding Perryton 21-11.  Both teams had 14 turnovers.  The Lady Wolves shot 64 percent in the first quarter, and Abbie Steel ended the quarter when she drained a three with three seconds left in the quarter to give Dalhart a 17-8 lead.  Jordan Banks started the second quarter with a three to make the lead 20-13.  Jeanna Sybesma grabbed a rebound and put it back in to make the score 22-15, then she did the same thing on the next possession.  Abbie Steele followed with a layup after a great assist from Karley White to make the score 26-20.  Brynn Dunham picked up her third foul, and Perryton tied the game at 26.  Tiffany Schumacher then shot another three to give Dalhart the lead 29-26 at halftime.

    Abbie had another bucket after an assist from Karley. Tiffany followed with two points.  Jeanna had another beautiful rebound which she put back for two more points followed by another jump shot, one more rebound, and a put back to make the score 39-33.  Karley started to stretch the lead out when she hit a three point shot at the end of the third quarter to make the score 42-33.  

    Brynn started the fourth quarter out with an eight-foot jumper. Jeanna rebounded the ball and added another layup.  They Lady Wolves missed a free throw, but Jeanna grabbed the missed shot and put it in for another layup to make the score 48-35.  Tiffany added another free throw. Jennifer Quint, who shot 82 percent from the free throw line, tossed in two more shots. Karley followed with another three, and the lead was 54-37.  Quint added another free throw, and then she was fouled on a layup attempt and added two more free throws to make the score 57-37.  Shelbie Kirk made a couple of free throws, and Jonna Gallegos finished the score with a basket to make the final score 61-39.  

    Statistics: Jeanna Sybesma 16 points, 10 rebounds 3 steals and shot 67.7 percent from the field. Tiffany Schumacher 11 points, 3 rebounds 1 assist and 2 steals. Karley White 11 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 1 steal. Abbie Steele 7 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal.  Jennifer Quint 5 points, and 1 assist. Jordan Banks, 5 points, 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal. Shelbie Kirk, 2 points 1 assist. Jonna Gallegos 2 points.
