     Title: “Edna’s Light” Christmas Program 2009

    The Dalhart Ministerial Alliance is pleased to announce that the Edna’s Light Christmas Basket Adoption Program is in full swing.  The program benefits families in the community that feel they will need help with Christmas gifts for their children.  Applications may be picked up at Panhandle Community Services, located in the Dallam County Courthouse, week days from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.  Completed applications should be returned to Panhandle Community Services no later than 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 24th.

    If you are interested in adopting a family for the Christmas season simply choose a number from the roster below and call 333-3911, furnished by XIT Communications, to receive the information about the family you have chosen.  The roster will be updated in the Dalhart Texan every Monday through the end of the program.   The last day to adopt a family will be Sunday, December 13th.  All community members adopting a family are asked to deliver the gifts to the adopted families by Thursday, December 17th.   For those wishing to adopt a family, but are unable to shop for the applicant’s requests, contributions may be sent to the Dalhart Ministerial Alliance at PO Box 505, Dalhart, TX 79022.

    These applicants have been approved and are ready for adoption:

1.    Separated mother with three children, two who are toddlers, would like clothing for children; would also like a food certificate.

2.  Family with two children, one an infant and one a toddler, would like clothing for children.

3.  Single mother with two children, both toddlers, would like clothing for children.

4.  Family with two children would like clothing for children; would also like a food certificate.

5.  Family with three children would like clothing and shoes for children; would also like a food certificate.

6.  Divorced mother with two children would like jacket and shoes for children; would also like a food certificate.

7.    Divorced mother with two children would like clothes and shoes for children; would also like a food certificate.

8.    Family with three children would like clothing for children; would also like a food certificate.

9.    Divorced mother with three children, one who is a teenager, would like clothes and shoes for children; would also like a food certificate.

10.    Single mother with three children would like clothes for children.

11.    Separated mother with three children, one who is a teenager, would like clothing and jackets for children; would also like food certificate.

12.    Single, disabled mother with two children would like clothing for children; would also like a food certificate.

13.    Married couple with five children, three who are teenagers, would like clothing for children; would also like a food certificate.

14.    Single mother with two children would like clothing for children; would also like a food certificate.

15.    Single mother with four children, two who are teenagers, would like clothing for children.  

16.    Single mother with three children, one who is a toddler, would like clothing and shoes for children; would like a food certificate.

17.    Single father with two children, one who is a teenager, would like clothing and jackets for children; would like a food certificate.

18.     Elderly couple would like clothing and a food certificate.

19.     Elderly married woman would like clothing and a food certificate.

20.     Disabled couple would like clothing and a food certificate.
