It’s that time of year again. It’s cold, it’s windy and it’s dry which means there is an increased chance of fire spreading across the panhandle and the local fire department is doing all they can to prepare.

It’s that time of year again. It’s cold, it’s windy and it’s dry which means there is an increased chance of fire spreading across the panhandle and the local fire department is doing all they can to prepare.

“We are dry,” Fire Chief Curtis Brown said. “With the rain we did have it grew quite a bit of fuel for grass fires, so at the fire department we are worried about this winter pretty bad on grass fires.”
